Invatron Systems Corp. and Hobart Corp. have announced here that they have concluded agreements enabling each party to license and re-sell various software technologies developed by the other. In addition, Hobart and Invatron will collaboratively work with prospective customers for Invatron’s PeriScope Decision Support software and Hobart’s Information Tracker application. PeriScope DSS (Decision Support System) enables retailers to accurately monitor and optimize in-store activities related to product replenishment in the various fresh food departments. Hobart Information Tracker software runs on a portable handheld computer and enables store personnel to perform markdowns and capture shrink information in real-time.
Under the terms of the agreement, Hobart will also re-sell an OEM version of Invatron’s PLUM (Price Lookup Universal Management) Scale Management solution designed to work exclusively with Hobart’s line of weigh/labeling equipment. Invatron will re-market the HIT handheld application as part of it’s PeriScope DSS offering and Hobart will become a re-seller of PeriScope DSS.
Invatron is well positioned to cater to the needs of retailers in the area of optimizing store-level replenishment in the fresh food areas. "Together with the existing installed base of PLUM Scale Management customers, the launch of this partnership coupled with the introduction of the PeriScope DSS system will enable us to deliver a complete fresh food information management solution to our customers," stated Axel Doerwald, Invatron’s President.
Retailers wishing to reduce fresh department shrink levels due to spoilage and excessive markdowns while minimizing out-of-stock occurrences can now do so with PeriScope DSS and HITS. Whereas PLUM Scale Management enables retailers to centrally manage and consolidate all their item data and pricing into one system and deliver that data out to all their in-store weighing and labeling equipment, PeriScope DSS closes the loop. By capturing in-store sales, production and shrink data from various store systems, PeriScope DSS is able to do advanced analytical processing of the data to derive future stock requirements in self-serve cases based on changing sales conditions. In addition, Invatron is developing an Enterprise version of PeriScope that will utilize a data warehouse to gather, centrally store and report on all store level activity related to the perishables departments. The Enterprise version is scheduled to be available later this year.
