Dick's Supermarkets Expands ePLUM
Dicks Supermarkets of Wisconsin is an eight store chain offering quality products and exceptional customer service since 1950. Dicks was recently purchased by Fresh Brands, a long time PLUM customer, and has been busy rolling out ePLUM to all 8 stores last summer. The first phase introduced PLUM Host to manage scale item data and ePLUM to mange a network of TCP/IP scales in the meat department.
This stand-alone combination of PLUM Host and ePLUM passed with flying colors. Dicks is now starting the second phase to add other departments. Rather than replace existing scales, Dicks is networking older serial devices with new Systech boxes that offer considerable savings over the alternative. This retailer is proving that you don't need large economies of scale to achieve new levels of efficiency.
