Giant Eagle selects ePLUM Scale Manager for GetGo Convenience Stores / May 2005
Invatron is pleased to announce that Giant Eagle of Pittsburgh, PA has installed ePLUM Scale Manager to centrally support the scale hardware at its chain of GetGo convenience stores.
The scale at each store will be maintained centrally by ePLUM with no software requirement at store level. The ability to see each scale through the TCP/IP network while eliminating the requirement for software running in the store was an ideal fit with Giant Eagle's requirements. Scale files have traditionally been poorly managed in the convenience store sector so consequently, price integrity issues are common. By leveraging their expertise in the grocery industry, Giant Eagle has introduced a retail systems concept to convenience that will produce significant return on investment. In addition ePLUM offers an unparalled set of help desk tools which provide a proactive way of viewing and understanding scale status and communications across the enterprise.
