Scolari's Food and Drug selects PLUM Host and ePLUM Scale Manager / September 2005
TORONTO, CANADA (September, 2005)- Invatron is pleased to announce that Scolari's Food and Drug of Sparks, Nevada has selected PLUM Host and ePLUM Scale Manager to provide scale management to its chain of full service supermarkets.
The Scolari's store locations will be fed with data generated by Invatron's PLUM Host item management application. PLUM Host will be used to manage scale-item details centrally, maintain data integrity and eliminate data errors in the scales. ePLUM Scale Manager will run at the corporate level on a central server and manage all scale communications as well as providing a complete set of help desk tools including the visibility of each scale in the enterprise. The existing scale network within the stores will be maintained as will the current scale inventory. ePLUM will provide the flexibility to introduce TCP/IP scales creating a hybrid environment of both serial and ethernet equipment.
Scolari's Food & Drug is the largest privately owned grocery store chain in Northern Nevada with 13 stores. Scolari's also operates 3 stores in the central coast area of California. Nine superstores offer a variety of specialty departments such as Fresh Produce, Service Meat and Fish, Bakery/Deli, Full Service Floral, Video Rentals, Pharmacies as well as expanded Health and Beauty Departments. Four smaller traditional grocery stores offering a full array of brand name groceries.
