H.Y. Louie selects PLUM Host and ePLUM Scale Manager / March 2006

TORONTO, CANADA (March 6th, 2006) – Invatron is pleased to announce that H.Y. Louie Co. of Burnaby, B.C. has selected PLUM Host and ePLUM Scale Manager to provide scale management to its chain of full service supermarkets.

H.Y. Louie operates a combination of 47 corporate and franchised grocery stores across British Columbia under the IGA Marketplace banner. All weigh-label item data including new legislated requirements such as Trans Fats and Allergens will be managed by Invatron's PLUM Host item management application. PLUM Host will be used to manage scale-item details centrally, maintain data integrity and eliminate data errors in the scales. ePLUM Scale Manager will run at the corporate level on a central server to manage all scale communications as well as provide staff with the help desk tools to monitor each scale in the enterprise. ePLUM replaces an obsolete DOS based proprietary application that communicated through dial-up and was no longer meeting the company's needs. ePLUM takes advantage of the existing WAN to leverage the investment and bring new functionality to the end users. No changes to the existing scale network or current scale inventory were required as ePLUM can support serial, TCP-IP or hybrid environments.

In business since 1903 H.Y. Louie is one of the oldest wholesale companies in North America. The company has an extensive wholesale business and owns and operates the London Drugs chain. The organization has 59 drug stores, 47 grocery stores, and employs over 6,700 people. The company has deep roots within the communities it serves and has made the IGA name a household word throughout the province. With BC in the midst of a high growth period, and H.Y. Louie enhancing their operating efficiencies with tools such as ePLUM, the company can expect solid growth for the future. For more information about H.Y. Louie, visit: www.marketplaceiga.com.
