Pathmark Installs Invatron’s PLUM Scale Management Solution / April 2006
TORONTO, CANADA (April 3rd, 2006) – Pathmark Stores, a leading regional grocery retailer in the New York-New Jersey and Philadelphia markets, has selected and rolled-out PLUM Store and PLUM Host to fulfill their scale management requirements across the enterprise.
Running on a UNIX ISP, PLUM will initially provide connectivity to the new Bizerba GLP printer recently deployed to Pathmark’s in-store bakeries. Ultimately the installation will be extended to support all in-store weigh and labeling equipment. Pathmark is already enjoying the security of knowing accurate pricing and item data within the scales is now a certainty. The application is a key to maximizing perishable department’s profitability, meeting legislated requirements, and ensuring customer satisfaction through price integrity. The PLUM application eliminates the need for store level personnel to make price changes at the scales. In addition communications failures can be alerted back to a central help desk.
The PLUM installations were managed by IBM Global Services and completed in an extremely timely fashion due the efforts of all three parties. “The logistics of a time sensitive implementation coupled with the first North American installation of the new Bizerba printer made this truly a group effort” stated Axel Doerwald, President and CEO of Invatron Systems Corp. “This roll-out was the culmination of extensive efforts by all involved and we are pleased to see Pathmark now in a position to enjoy the benefits and payback of the PLUM application suite.”
Pathmark has been operating in the North Eastern grocery market since 1968.
