Sainsbury’s Selects Invatron’s PLUM Host and ePLUM Scale Manager / February 2006

TORONTO, CANADA (February 8th, 2006) – Invatron Systems Corp. announced today that J. Sainsbury’s plc, one of the United Kingdoms’ leading retailers, is using ePLUM Scale Manager and PLUM Host to fulfill their scale management requirements across their enterprise.

Invatron partnered with Sainsbury’s primary weigh label equipment provider, Avery Weigh-Tronix, who designed and implemented the project to integrate counter scales, self-service scales and printers into the world’s largest fully-centralized scale management system.

The ePLUM Scale Manager controls the communication to scales in over 450 stores using MX100 software from Avery Weigh-Tronix. It operates from a central server requiring no software to be installed in the stores. Running on a Sun Solaris platform, ePLUM is providing direct data management and visibility to over 3500 weigh-scales. Axel Doerwald, President and CEO of Invatron Systems Corp. said, “To our knowledge there is no other like implementation in the entire world at this point in time and indicates a quantum leap in retail weigh-scale management system design and capability. I congratulate our software engineering team. They really surpassed themselves with this effort.”

The rollout is nearing completion. “To work on such a ground breaking project with a respected retailer such as Sainsbury’s and our project partner Avery Weigh-Tronix has been an extremely rewarding experience. We will leverage this experience in the future as interest in the capabilities of ePLUM from around the world is high,” stated Doerwald.

In addition to item and price data, ePLUM also provides a mechanism for the transport of graphics, label formats, fonts, and other regularly scheduled updates. The application is critical to controlling stock in the fresh food areas, meeting legislative requirements and ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate pricing. PLUM Host will provide the ability to manage all scale item data and ensure ongoing price integrity.
