BI-LO migrates to ePLUM Scale Manager and Scale Resource Manager, software technology solutions from Invatron Systems Corp. / December 15, 2007
TORONTO, CANADA (December 15, 2007)- Invatron Systems Corp., a leading provider of integrated retail enterprise software solutions, is pleased to announce that BI-LO plans to implement ePLUM Scale Manager 2.5 to centrally manage their in-store weigh/label scale equipment.
Currently a long-term PLUM Store UNIX user, BI-LO has elected to take advantage of ePLUM’s advanced architecture and feature set. ePLUM Scale Manager 2.5 is a multi-vendor, web-enabled solution that provides retailers with centralized control of in-store scales and printers. Accessible from any computer running a web browser, it allows support staff instantaneous access to any ethernet or serial scale device. ePLUM, a full-featured and easily implemented solution, is designed to eliminate data integrity issues, and meets legislated requirements such as support for trans fats, allergens, and country of origin labeling (COOL). Moving from a traditional thick client model, ePLUM provides pro-active, rather than re-active tools to the user.
Scale Resource Manager (SRM) is a separate, add-on module to ePLUM that offers additional benefit and ROI to the retailer. SRM provides the ability to send and receive scale label formats, graphics, fonts, speedkeys, and other like configuration and support files. File transfers may be performed manually, or scheduled, ensuring labels, logos, and graphics are delivered at the precise time a new marketing campaign is started. An on-site technician is no longer required for these types of updates.
BI-LO was founded in South Carolina in 1961. Headquartered in Mauldin, SC, BI-LO operates 222 supermarkets in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee, and employs approximately 17,000 people. The company has a strong commitment to community involvement through philanthropy, supporting charitable organizations assisting children, hunger relief, and education.
