Thrifty Foods selects ePLUM 2.5, software technology from Invatron Systems Corp. / August, 2007

TORONTO, CANADA (August 15, 2007)- Invatron Systems Corp., a leading provider of integrated retail enterprise software solutions, is pleased to announce that Thrifty Foods is implementing ePLUM Scale Manager 2.5 to centrally manage their in-store weigh/label scale equipment.

ePLUM Scale Manager 2.5 is a multi-vendor, web-enabled solution that provides retailers with centralized control of in-store scales and printers. Accessible from any computer running a web browser, it allows support staff instantaneous access to any ethernet or serial scale device. ePLUM, a full-featured and easily implemented solution, is designed to eliminate data integrity issues, and meets legislated requirements such as support for trans fats, allergens, and country of origin labeling (COOL). Moving from a traditional thick client model, ePLUM provides pro-active, rather than re-active tools to the user.

Thrifty Foods is a 20 store chain of supermarkets located in Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island. With a clear commitment to top-quality products, competitive pricing, and outstanding customer service, Thrifty Foods has evolved into a thriving chain of 20 stores that currently enjoys over 40 per cent market share in Victoria, and 25 per cent market share on Vancouver Island overall. The business now includes a grocery and produce wholesale operation, distributing to all Thrifty Foods stores and more than 60 independent grocers province-wide from a 70,000 square foot warehouse in Saanichton.
