Positive changes to Invatron's management structure / September 24, 2007

Axel Doerwald, Chairman and CEO, Invatron Systems Corp. is pleased to announce two changes to the company’s management structure.  This reshaping will enable Invatron to leverage its leading position in the Fresh Item Management marketplace in exploring additional opportunities for its retail technology offerings. Ray Goodman is appointed as the new President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. Joe Smirlies, previously Invatron’s Director of Application Development, is appointed as Chief Technology Officer.

Ray brings to Invatron over 25 years of experience in retail technology.  He has served as VP Merchandising, Marketing and Technology at Loblaws.  His pioneering work in the area of business intelligence and category management will help to leverage Invatron's product portfolio in these important areas.  Ray has also championed outsourced analytics for retailers while serving as CIO at Cott Retail Brands, as well as President, North America for a Bangalore-based retail technology firm.

Joe Smirlies has been with Invatron for over 8 years and most recently served as the company’s Director of Application Development.  Prior to Invatron, Joe worked with IBM and FootPrint in the area of software development management. While at Invatron, Joe has spearheaded the development of PeriScope, the Decision Support System for Fresh Item Management, which has received strong market reception early in its lifecycle.  Joe has been a strong advocate within Invatron, having led the re-engineering efforts responsible for its new thin-client, zero footprint product line.

Invatron Systems Corp., a Toronto-based software and services company, has been the recognized leader in the area of Fresh Item Management within the food retail industry for over 18 years.  Invatron’s software technology solutions are currently deployed in over 60% of all food retail stores across North America, providing retailers with the tools necessary to increase profitability related to in-store Fresh offerings.
