Whole Foods remains loyal to PLUM/ePLUM technology from Invatron Systems Corp. / March 2008
TORONTO, CANADA (March 1, 2008) – Invatron Systems Corp., the leading provider of enterprise-level software solutions for the food retail industry, is pleased to announce that Whole Foods regional operations across the USA have completed a roll-out of PLUM/ePLUM Scale Management to all stores acquired from Wild Oats. Whole Foods utilizes Invatron’s PLUM suite of applications to manage their in-store weigh/label scale equipment.
The newly-acquired Wild Oats stores were operating with a competitive scale management product from ADC. In an effort to establish a standard for technology across all stores, the ADC product was removed, and either PLUM or ePLUM was rolled out in its place. Some Whole Foods regions have elected to take advantage of ePLUM’s advanced architecture and feature set, while others have chosen to continue operating with Invatron’s thick-client PLUM Store solution.
ePLUM Scale Manager 2.5 is a multi-vendor, web-enabled solution that provides retailers with centralized control of in-store scales and printers. Accessible from any computer running a web browser, ePLUM allows support staff to have immediate access to any Ethernet or serial scale device. Along with ease of implementation, this thin-client solution offers the assurance of superior data integrity, and meets legislated requirements such as support for trans fats, allergens, and country of origin labeling (COOL).
Whole Foods has recently completed development of an in-house, back-office application designed to provide data feeds to Invatron’s PLUM/ePLUM applications. This provides Whole Foods with a single point of entry for any required changes, additions, and/or deletions.
Founded in 1980 as one small store in Austin, Texas, Whole Foods Market® is now the world’s leading retailer of natural and organic foods, with more than 265 stores in North America and the United Kingdom.
